Well by now there’s no one (other than the oil companies and the incredibly dense) would deny that global warming is affecting us. I’m not even sure why the energy companies want to play down this movie at all. Al Gore’s message is about becoming becoming Carbon Neutral, not energy conservation. Which is also important but not the message of the movie.

PS, you should think about converting some of your pages to posts sir, more organized that way.

Quite true I agree…. I guess it will take a while to create this awareness and start to move in the right direction..

And I guess you are right about the posts still figuring out …. how to work around without spending more time down here…. will look into it thanks for the thought.

Battle 1: Recognition of Global Warming (Environmentalists vs. Politicians and Oil Companies and the “incredibly dense”). Environmentalists Won!

Battle 2: Action on Stopping Global Warming (same players, only Environmentalists have many coastal peoples and biologists on their side). Environmentalists may lose if the politicians keep stalling.

Battle 3: (if Battle 2 is lost) Saving humanity. Unless we develop some special technology in the next 10 years, we may be doomed.
(politicians say: since we can’t, why try to stop global warming?)

    Is global warming real
There are arguments for and against it, how will one decide what stance to take when some of the major governments do not completely agree with this view where as there are people like Al Gore who has taken global warming as a mission.
This is certain for me, I travel quite a bit and in my recent travels I have had to encounter tremendous monsoon rains in south Asia viz. Kerala. The period usually was short a month in june or july now this year 2007 it has been raining all the time I had been there about 6 weeks and I hear it still is raining. Not to mention of the hot humid days when it is not raining.
Is this a consequence of Global warming or not? To me it is. I am certain that there is an unusual swing in the weather pattern here in Canada too.
For me Global warming is true and it is here.

Half the Amazon Rainforest to be Lost by 2030
    ———————————————————————-
(NaturalNews) Due to the effects of global warming and deforestation, more than half of the Amazon rainforest may be destroyed or severely damaged by the year 2030, according to a report released by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The report, “Amazon’s Vicious Cycles: Drought and Fire,” concludes that 55 percent of the world’s largest rainforest stands to be severely damaged from agriculture, drought, fire, logging and livestock ranching in the next 22 years. Another 4 percent may be damaged by reduced rainfall caused by global warming. This is anticipated to destroy up to 80 percent of wildlife habitat in the region.

Being from Alaska, I have seen first hand the effects of global warming. I have witnessed glaciers calve off in monumental proportions.

In fact, I found a disturbing, yet spectacular movie that shows global warming footage of calving glaciers. Huge chunks of ice breaking off into the ocean! You can find this film called “Alaska, The Tracy Arm Experience” on Film Baby HERE:

I highly recommend buying Alaska, The Tracy Arm Experience. Watch the glaciers disappear before your eyes and show your friends and family what is really going on in Alaska.
